The Frisco League schools traveled to Russellville and Rolla to compete in districts. Dixon and Crocker competed at Russellville while Richland traveled to Rolla.

Class 2 District 3 - Russellville High School


The Dixon Bulldogs and Crocker Lions both had athletes that qualified for the Class 2 Sectional 2 Championship at South Calloway in Mokane next Saturday. The Lions were the runners up as a team with 110 points, while the Bulldogs placed seventh in the tough District with their score of 47. The New Bloomfield Wildcats were the men's team champion with 144 points.


Senior Ethyn Boorom from Crocker was the District Champion in the high jump with a leap of 6’-0”, while sophomore Clyde Hoxworth qualified in fourth place with the jump of 5’-8”.

Senior Dillion Porter was the runner up and qualifier in the pole vault with the distance of 12’-0”. Senior Adam Shockley qualified in the long jump with the jump of 19’-3”. Shockley was the winner in the triple jump with his leap of 41’-2 ½”. Junior Logan Burney also qualified with the jump of 40’-0” to earn him third place.

Hoxworth moved on to the sectional meet in the 100 meter dash with his run of 11.76 to earn him third place. Ethan Gan qualified in the 200 meter dash with his run of 32.09. That earned him a third place finish.

Crocker was the 4x100 meter champions with time of 45.54. The team consisted of Gan, Hoxworth, Boorom and Shockley. The Lions 4x200 meter relay team was the District Champions with the run of 1:33.96. The team was the same of the 4x100. The 4x400 meter relay team placed fourth in the meet with their time of 3:44.75. The Team was Senior Logan Burney, senior Fabio Felli, senior Samuel Carringer and freshman Iyzach Gray.


The Bulldogs first individual qualifier of the day was junior Braden Perry, who placed fourth in the javelin with the throw of 142’-5”. That was a also a new school record to earn the fourth spot.

Head Coach Jim Brown said this about Perry, “Braden Perry continued to improve almost every time he throws the javelin. He set a new school record in the javelin at 142.”

Senior Trevor Graves qualified in the 300 meter hurdles with the run of 44.63 to earn him third place in the meet.

Coach Brown added this about Graves, “Trevor Graves, after falling in the 110 hurdles came back to qualify in the 300s, where he showed a lot of heart and determination.”

The Bulldogs qualified in the 4x400 meter relay with a third place finish. They ran the race in 3:43.41.

Coach Brown said this when asked about the 4x400 teams performance, “Our 4x400 team stepped up when our anchor was sick to qualify.”

The 4x800 meter relay team ran a season best time of 9:03.23 to earn them the fourth spot to qualify for the Sectional meet. The team was made up of Junior Chase Beardslee, Senior Dillion Williams, Perry and senior Isaiah Willis.

Coach Brown said this after the 4x800 meter run,”Our 4x800 team knocked off 18 sec from there best time of the year. We had kids that had to deal with adversity and illness to get to the next level.”

Senior Zach Shetler won the 400 with the time of 51.66 to also break his own school record.

Coach Brown said this about the run, “Zach Shetler was fighting sickness and still manage to not only be the District Champion in the 400 meter dash, but break his own school record.”

Coach Brown said this after the meet, “We had an excellent day on Saturday. We had some of our best performances of the year. Our young kids did very well. They got valuable district level experience which prepares them for success to come. We are in position to do very well at sectionals next week. I couldn't be prouder of all of our kids right now.” 



The Lady Lions had several girls that moved on to compete next week. Crocker placed seventh in the meet with the team points of 58.50 during the meet. The Steelville Lady Cardinals won the meet with the a score of 109 points.

Sophomore Mariah Dean placed fourth in the high jump with here leap of 4’-10”. Sophomore Morgan Wall qualified for Sectional with her jump of 7’-6” to place her fourth in the pole vault. Sophomore Abigail Posten was the champion in the triple jump with here leap of 32’-8 ½”.

Posten placed third in the 100 meter dash with here run of 15.16.

The girls placed fourth in the 4x100 meter dash with the time of 54.48. The team was made up of  Dean, sophomore Madison Gan, sophomore Madison Markley and Wall. The Lady Lions 4x800 meter relay team finished fourth with the season best time of 11:11.78. The team consisted of Junior Sydney Hoxworth, Markley, freshman Callie McMurtrey and Gan. 

Class 2 District 4 - Rolla Junior High School

The Richland Bears and Lady Bears competed in Rolla in Class 2 District 4.


The Bears placed ninth as a team with 15 points. The Licking Wildcats won the division with 179 points.

Freshman Dominque Wade placed fourth in the 110 meter hurdles with his time of 20.89. Wade also qualified in the 300 meter hurdles with his time of 51.14 to earn a fourth place finish.


The Lady Bears placed 11th with their 26th team points in the meet. The Lady Wildcats won the division with 191 points.

Junior Emily Eckman placed fourth in the 100 meter dash with here run of 13.55.

The Lady Bears placed fourth in the 4x800 meter relay with the time of 13:12.61. The team consisted of Freshman Leanne Bailey, Adrialise Jones, sophomore Lindsey Peterson and sophomore Megan Peterson.
