The Snack in a Pack Program hosted the Second Annual 3on3 Basketball Madness tournament on March 24 with teams from three different divisions – middle school, high school, and adult – competing to become champions at Waynesville High School.

In the adult division, the Waynesville Custodians were crowned champions, while the Lions of Crocker finished in second place and the 3rd Chemical Brigade of Fort Leonard Wood finished third. In the high school division, the 3rd Chemical Brigade Youth team took first place on a buzzer-beating shot in the championship game; Elite Red finished in second and The Ballers finished in third place. The middle school bracket featured a modified one-on-one tournament, with Ryder Schwass finishing first, Isaiah Dunham finishing second, and Avery Littleton and Hiromu Chemney tying for third.

Snack in a Pack would also like to thank the Military Police Basic Officer Leader Course and 14th Military Police Brigade, both of Fort Leonard Wood, for volunteering at the 3on3 Basketball Madness tournament.

The tournament raised $370 for the Snack in a Pack program. Those proceeds will help provide one pack to 74 students over one weekend. Snack in a Pack is an AmeriCorps VISTA program that provides supplemental food packs to approximately 300 students in the Waynesville R-VI School District who might otherwise go hungry over weekends and long school breaks. Each pack costs approximately $5.00.
