The Waynesville Tigers competed in a wet State Track Championship on Friday and Saturday. The Tigers tied for 38th place in Missouri as a team with their finish of 4 points in over the two days.

Senior Tracey Gates began the day for Waynesville Tigers with the triple jump. The sand pits were wet from rain earlier in the day. Gates made his second trip to State in two years. He jumped 45’-5” in the preliminary round. He was able to hold on in the finals with that distance and place 5th in the state championship.

Senior Lamone Tollivar also competed in the triple jump. He was able to place 14th in the State with his jump of 43’-04 1/4”

Senior Darrin Roy ran the second to last event of the day he ran in the second qualifying heat of the 200 meter dash in class 5. He placed seventh in his heat the preliminary round with a time of 23.02. That made him the 15th fastest 200 meter runner in Class 5 this season.

Junior Timothy Brech began Saturday for the Tigers with a throw of 141’-9” in the javelin during the first flight of throwers. He placed 14th place in Missouri with the throw.
