Each year the Fort Wood Community Spouses’ Club (FWCSC) Community Outreach provides grants to nonprofit organizations and schools that support the community. On May 8, at the Fort Leonard Wood USO, the Fort Wood Community Spouses’ Club presented Snack in a Pack with a grant for $1,033.  This grant will provide marketing tools and materials to help promote and raise program awareness in the community.  Due to the program being 100% donation supported, these marketing materials are crucial to expanding awareness of the Snack in Pack program.

FWCSC also supports Snack in a Pack by packing supplemental food packs, hosting food and bag drives, in addition to their community outreach grants.

Snack in a Pack provides supplemental food packs to more than 300 students in the Waynesville R-VI School District every weekend and extended school breaks who might otherwise go hungry.  To host a food drive, make a donation, or learn more about Snack in a Pack, please contact the Waynesville AmeriCorps VISTA office at (573) 842-2651 or send an email to spack@waynesville.k12.mo.us

The Community Resource Office, under the direction of Todd Whalen, is a grant-supported department of the Waynesville R-VI School District that manages district volunteers, AmeriCorps school tutors, Club TIGER Afterschool Program, Snack in a Pack Program, college and career readiness, service learning and more. These programs are made possible by grants from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and Army Youth Programs in Your Neighborhood (AYPYN).
