Brandon Mahurin added the last honor to his 2018 baseball season. He was selected as an All-State pitcher.
He was a leader for the Bulldogs this fall and spring season. On the offensive stats for the spring, he had 38 hits in 7 at bats. He averaged .528 hitting while collecting 24 singles, 9 doubles, 1 triple, and 4 home runs.
Mahurin also made it to base 17 more times won walks and being hit by pitchers. He had less than 9 strikeouts on the plate. Mahurin was able to succeed on 20 out of 21 stolen base attempts.
He hit in score 37 runs on hit own while hitting in another 29 Bulldogs this spring.
He played in 57.2 innings as a pitcher. He allowed 28 runs during the entire season and only 13 of them were earned runs. He completed the year with an 8-1 record. Mahurin also had 84 strikeouts the season while only allowing 9 batters on base after being hit or walked.
Head Dixon Bulldogs Baseball Coach said this about Mahurin this season, “He has been a great example for his teammates. He represented the program in the best possible way.”
In his 4 years he helped the Bulldogs win 2 frisco League title while he collected 118 wins.
