The Waynesville Redbirds and Pirate traveled to Laquey to face the Hornets.

Waynesville Red Birds vs Laquey Hornets - 5th Elementary School Div

The Red Birds brushed the rust off the bats in the top of the first inning and scored two runs to take and early lead in the game. The Hornets had other plans on their mind in the bottom half as they were able to score four points in the inning.

Waynesville responded in the top of the second inning and picked up the hitting as they scored seven runs in the half. Waynesville took a 9-4 lead. The Hornets were able to pick up four more runs and bring the game with in one run at the game was 9-8 Red Birds after the inning.

The Waynesville boys put the finishing touches on the game in the top of the third inning as they added four more runs in the contest. The Laquey Hornets did not score on their end and fell in the game to Waynesville 13-8.

Waynesville Pirates vs Laquey - 6th Elementary School Div

The Waynesville Pirates stepped on the field against the older Laquey group. The Pirates fell 18-1 in four innings.

The game began with the Pirates failing to get a runner on base in the top half of the inning. Laquey was able to break the ice and score seven runs in the bottom of the first to take a 7-0 lead.

The Waynesville boys were once again unable to advance their runners to home plate in the top of the second inning. The Laquey Hornets were able to pick up four more runs in the bottom of the second. That gave the Hornets a 11-0 lead.

The Pirate added their only run in the top of the third inning in a last chance to turn the game around. Waynesville trailed 11-1 after the top half. The Laquey boys score seven more runs to cement the win in the bottom of the third inning. Laquey led 18-1 after the inning.

The Pirates were unable to score again in the top of the fourth inning and gave the Hornets a 18-1 final score after four innings.
