The youth softball teams have have a busy few days. The Dixon teams have been on the road along with the Crocker Lady Lions.
Dixon Lady Bulldogs vs Crocker Lady Lions - 6th Middle School Div
The the Lady Bulldogs began the hot game that was well over 90 degrees at the beginning by picking up three runs in the top of the first inning. The Lady Lions quickly responded with three runs of their own in the bottom half. That kept the score tied after the first inning at 3-3.
The Dixon girls were unable to add any more runs in the top portion of the second inning. The score remained tied. The Crocker Lady Lions were able to bring a runner about off a single into right field. The gave the Crocker girls a 4-3 lead after the conclusion of the second inning.
The Lady Bulldogs picked up their game in a big way after Crocker switched out pitcher and was able to bring in six runs after them bases were loaded for much of the top half of the inning. The Lady Bulldogs led the game 9-4 after the top half of the third. The Lady Lions were unable to get a batter across the plate and did not score in the bottom half.
The fourth inning began with more pitching changes for the Lady Lions that allowed Dixon to added three more runs to their lead and secure the win. The Dixon girls led the game 12-4 after the top of the inning. Crocker was able to add one more run in the bottom of the inning but was not able to pull off the comeback.
The Lady Bulldogs won the game 12-5.
Dixon Diamond vs Crocker Lady Lions - 6th Middle School Div - Wednesday
In the first meeting between both teams this season the Lady Lions were able to pick up the 13-3 win.
The Diamonds began the game on Wednesday in Crocker by scoring one run in the top of the first inning. Crocker responded in a hurry after they were able to score three runs in the bottom of the third inning.
The Dixon girls once again scored another run in the top of the second inning to cut the Crocker lead to 3-2. The Lady Lions were able to come off a good coaches talk and score seven run to close out the second inning of the game. The Lady Lions led the game 10-2 after two.
The Diamonds again scored a single run in the top of the third inning. The crocker girls closed the game out with three more runs in the bottom of the third and won the game 13-3 after time had run out on the game.
Dixon Diamond vs Laquey Lady Hornets - 6th Middle School Div - Thursday
The Diamonds second game in two days was against the Lady Hornets in Laquey. They fell in a tough matchup 8-1.
The Dixon girls were unable to score in the top of the first inning Laquey was able to change that as they score two runs to take the lead after the first.
The Diamonds once again did not score the runners on that made it to base in the top of the second inning. Laquey was able to squeeze out two more runs in the bottom half and increased their lead to 4-0.
Dixon continued their scoreless streak in the game after their half of the third inning. They continued to trail 4-0. The Laquey girls once again added two more runs to their score and increased the game lead to 6-0.
The Diamond did not score in the top half of the fourth inning while the Lady Hornets again added two more runs. Laquey increased their lead to 8-0 after the fourth inning.
Dixon scored one run in the top of the fifth inning but was unable to turn the lead around. The Laquey Lady Hornets won the game 8-1 after one inning.
Crocker Lady Lions vs Laquey Lady Hornets - 8th Middle School Div - Thursday
The older middle school girls played the night game at Laquey High School.
The Lady Lions came out hot and picked up three runs to take a lead in the 1st inning. Laquey was not able to score in the bottom half and the Crocker girls led 3-0 in the game.
Both teams were scoreless in the second inning as Crocker continued to lead.
The Lady Lions began the third inning by adding two runs to their score to increase their lead to 5-0. Laquey responded back with two more runs of their own. The Crocker Lady Lions lead was cut to 5-2.
The Lady Lions began the fourth inning with a runner on base by a single. The Lady Lions added an Inside the park homerun to add two more runs in the beginning. The Lady Lions increased their lead to 7-2 after the top half of the inning. The Lady Hornets did not score in the bottom of the fourth and continued to trail 7-2 after the fourth.
The Lady Lions were unable to score in the top of the fifth inning. The Lady hornets added two more hits in the bottom half of the inning but were unable to come back ahead. They fell to the Lady Lions 7-4 in the game.
