The Crocker Lions, Richland Bears and the Waynesville Royals all traveled to Dixon to play in games that were rained out earlier in the season.
Crocker Lions vs Dixon Bulldogs - 2nd Grade
The future of the Lions and Bulldogs programs is looking strong after a great six inning game between both team of coach-pitch baseball. The Lions won the game 14-8 in the high scoring affair.
The first inning began with the Crocker Lions scoring four runs in the top half. That gave them a 4-0. Dixon did not manage to score in the bottom of the first. Crocker kept the 4-0 lead after one full inning of play.
The second inning was another good one for the Lions they brought in two more runners in the top of the second. They increased their lead to 6-0. The Bulldogs were unable to score in the bottom half and the score remained 6-0 after two innings of play.
The third inning was a quiet one for the Lions as they did not score a run and held on to their lead. The Bulldogs had other ideas though as they were able to score six runner in the bottom of the inning. Both teams were tied at 6-6 after the third.
The fourth inning was another quiet one for the Crocker hitters a second time as they did not have any runners cross the plate. Dixon again score two more runs in the bottom of the inning to game their first lead of 8-6 after the fourth inning.
The Lions bats really heated in the top fifth inning as they were able to score the seven runs to take the lead back. The Lions took a 13-8 lead after the top half of the inning. The Bulldogs did not score any runners in the bottom of the fifth inning after the Crocker second baseman caught a fly out and pulled off a double play to end the inning.
Crocker added one more run in the top of the sixth inning to extend their lead to 14-8. The Crocker Lions won the game 14-8 after the six innings of play.
Dixon Bulldogs vs Waynesville Royals - 6th Grade
The Bulldogs were the away team in Dixon during the makeup game against the Waynesville Royals. The Dixon boys won the game 15-5.
The Bulldogs opened the game in the top half of the first inning with seven runs crossing the plate. The Bulldogs led 7-0 after the first top half of the inning. The Royals were unable to score in the bottom part and still trailed by seven.
Dixon and the Waynesville did not score in the second inning of great defensive play. The score remained 7-0 with Dixon leading.
The Bulldogs were back on their game again in the top of the third inning as they score seven more runs to increase their lead to 14-0. The Royals added five runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning to cut the Dixon lead to 14-5 after three innings.
Dixon added one more run in the top of the fourth inning to increase their lead to 15-5. Crocker did not score in the bottom half and the game ended with a 15-5 win for the Dixon Bulldogs.
Richland Bears vs Dixon Bulldogs - 6th Grade
The Dixon Bulldogs played their second game of the night as they hosted the Frisco League rivals Richland Bears. Dixon won the game 10-5 in a close game.
Richland opened the game by managing to load the bases but they were unable to get any of them on base as the struckout with the bases loaded. Dixon scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning and also stranded three batters on base. The Bulldogs led the game 3-0 after the first inning.
The Bear or the Bulldogs did not score in the second inning and Dixon continued to lead 3-0 going into the third.
The Bears scored a run in the top of the third to cut the Dixon lead to 3-1. The Bulldogs responded back by scoring seven runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Dixon Boys now led 10-1 going into the final inning.
Richland was able to score four more runs in the top of the fourth inning but could not overcome the Bulldogs as Dixon won the game 10-5.
