Looking for something to do this weekend now that Fourth of July has come and gone? Here’s a few events happening near you.

Summer Scarefest

Who said fall is the only season for horror? Summer can be scary too. Come check out Summer Scarefest hosted by Rising Haunted Attraction on Friday, July 13. Tickets will be sold at the gate and the first 150 entries will receive a free T-Shirt commemorating the first ever event. There’ll also be a moving showing of the cult classic of the day’s namesake. The tour of the grounds will also be open along with the actors. Tickets are $20 dollars and may be bought in advance.

Free 5K Fun Run

If you’re looking to shed some calories from all the BBQ from the past weekend, then the Free 5K Fun Run hosted by Walker Real Estate may be worth looking into. Like the name suggests, the fun run is free for everyone. The run will start at approximately 8 a.m. on July 14. Be sure to check the Walker Real Estate Facebook page for any updates and be wary about the hot weather.

USO Family Craft Social

Spending time together is vital for families and creating crafts can create memories with your loved ones. The USO recognizes this and is hosting a craft social where families may come out to make arts and crafts, as well as meet others. It’s the perfect opportunity for families new to the area. The event is July 13 at the USO from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Supplies are on a first come, first serve basis so space may be limited. Food and drinks will be provided.
