The Waynesville Lady Tigers volleyball team will be led by a new coach and are preparing to have a competitive season this fall.
Megan Callis will begin her first year as head coach and will be assisted by Kara Darby and Brittany Matlock.
The Lady Tigers went 3-12-2 last season with wins over Sullivan, Houston and Summerville. They tied Clever and Sacred Hearts also last year. The team went 0-9 in Ozark Conference play last year.
Coach Callis said this about this season, “As a team, we plan to stay disciplined and build Tiger volleyball into a successful program.”
The Lady Tigers will have several returnign starters this season. They are Gracie Hutchinson, Victoria Perry, Shelby Wardin and Lucinda Myers. Hannah Hedrick, Aldon Pilz, Sidney Kunnemann, Jordan Harpe, and Mary Henry will be joining the varsity team this year as potentially new starters.
Coach Callis said this about her team this coming year, “This is an athletic group of girls that has great volleyball potential! They've been working hard and we hope to see great things this season."
The Lady Tigers will begin their season against the Glendale Falcons in Springfield at Glendale High School on August 24th. They will then travel to Marshfield and then Sullivan before having their first home game on September 6 against the Hillcrest Hornets from Springfield.
