The Crocker Lady Lions will have a new basketball coach at the junior high and high school level, as Rich Mueller moves in from the Plato school district.

Mueller is in his 21st year of coaching basketball. He has 10 years of being the head girls coach and two years of serving as a head boys coach. He has won three district championships, one sectional championship and four Frisco League tournaments over his years of coaching. His teams have also won several tournament championships.

He said this, “I am excited for the opportunity to coach girls basketball at Crocker and am looking forward to working with athletes that are tough, work hard and are coachable.”

Mueller began his playing days at Messiah Lutheran and Lutheran South High School in St. Louis.

He also gave this advice about preparing to be a coach, “Advice that I would give to those looking to become involved in coaching is to be prepared. A coach must work hard and put in the necessary time to prepare themselves and their team to be successful. Next piece of advice is don't stop learning. Be willing to accept that you don't know it all and be open to learning new things. And lastly find a system that your players can be successful in. Don't force players into a system that is not a fit for their abilities.”

The Lady Lions will play their junior high season this fall and the high school will take over in the winter time.
