Commissioners and County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Hillman continue to discuss the speed limit on county roads.
A proposal to establish a 45 mph speed limit as the default speed limit on all county roads was proposed by Hillman.
Hillman said it would be easier to enforce the speed limit if it was set with an ordinance, rather than using the phrase “unless otherwise posted.”
Texas Road has been a hotbed of speeders say some residents. Since last week's meeting, the Eastern District has posted speed limit signs on the road.
The Missouri Highway Patrol has also started running radar on Texas Road in hopes of catching speeders, noted commissioners.
