FORT LEONARD WOOD– The German Army liaison staff at Fort Leonard Wood will host the second annual German nondenominational Christmas worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13 in the Soldier Memorial Chapel.
The Celebrator, Pfarrer Rieke, German Protestant chaplain from Fort Bliss, Texas, will lead the service in German.
According to Lt. Col. Wolfgang Bayer, German liaison officer, “We really enjoy hosting this service and are looking for more people to attend this year.” Bayer added, “We try to get something new each year that benefits the German community and local residents.”
Following the service a social gathering will be held at Fellowship Hall, Building 590, just across the street from the Soldier Memorial Chapel. German Stollen and Gluehwein will be served, and the event is open to the public.
