The commanding general of Fort Leonard Wood, Maj. Gen. Gregg F. Martin, announced Monday he will be leaving the installation later this month for a new assignment in Kuwait.
Martin, who has served as Fort Leonard Wood’s commander since October 2008, said he will become the deputy commanding general of the Third Army, U.S. Army Central Coalition Forces Land Component Command on Jan. 27.
A change of command ceremony for the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE) and Fort Leonard Wood will be held later this month and details will be announced as information becomes available.
Brig. Gen. David Phillips, Commandant of the United States Army Military Police School and Regiment, will be the commanding general of the installation until Martin’s replacement is named by the U.S. Army.
