A Dixon man was taken into custody after allegedly beating a woman Jan. 23 at a Dixon residence.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was called to the residence at 13035 Harlow Lane about 4:27 p.m. after the Pulaski County 911 Center received a call of a domestic assault in progress.
When the deputy arrived, he was met at the open door by a male who appeared to be intoxicated.
The suspect told him there was nobody home, and that nobody had called police.
The deputy could hear a person in the home crying, and a few moments later a female with a bloody face appeared in the background.
The deputy was forced to place the male on the ground in order to restrain him. The investigation at the scene revealed that the boyfriend and girlfriend had been arguing and the male subject had allegedly punched the woman in the face several times.
The suspect was taken to the Pulaski County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold while a statement of probable cause was sent to the county prosecutor requesting charges relating to the incident. Authorities are waiting on a response from the prosecutor.
