One person injured in rear-end accident on Highway 28, Dixon
DIXON— One person was injured in a rear-end accident Wednesday in Pulaski County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Amber R. Fields, 26, of Dixon, was stopped behind a vehicle making a left hand turn off Highway 28, when she was struck from behind.According to the accident report, Ashley D. Ray, 17, of Dixon, was unable to stop, causing her 2002 Ford Escort to impact with Fields’ 2002 Ford Taurus.
Fields received minor injuries and was taken by Dixon Ambulance to Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. She was wearing a seat belt, according to the report, while Ray was not.
Fields’ vehicle had minor damage and was driven from the scene. Ray’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was removed by Rothmund’s Towing.
Two teens taken to hospital after vehicle hits tree on Lynwood
PULASKI COUNTY— Two teens were taken to the hospital Friday after their vehicle struck a tree.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 17-year-old Amanda R. Sears, of Waynesville, was driving south on Lynwood Lane, when her 2009 Kia traveled off the left side of the road and hit a tree.
Sears and her passenger, Emily L. Wilkes, 15, of Waynesville, both received minor injuries. Sears was not reported to be wearing a seat belt, while Wilkes was.
Sears was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, while Wilkes was taken by Pulaski County Ambulance to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital.
The vehicle sustained minor damaged and was removed by Jack’s Towing.
Snow causes driver to lose control, travel off road, hit ditch
BUCKHORN— Snow caused one driver to lose control of her vehicle Friday afternoon, causing her to go into a ditch.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Karen E. Goble, 36, of Plato, was driving south on Highway 17, about seven miles south of Buckhorn, when she lost control of her 2002 Chrysler on the snow- and ice-covered road, crossed the centerline, traveled off the left side of the road and hit a ditch.
Goble received minor injuries and was taken to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital by Pulaski County Ambulance. She was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
Her vehicle had minor damage and was removed by Jack’s Towing.
Two teens sent for treatment after car hits rock bluff Friday
Snow-covered roads sent two people to the hospital after their vehicle left the road and hit a rock bluff Friday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Melanie E. Williams, 60, of Iberia, was driving south on Highway 17, about two miles north of Waynesville, when she lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered road, crossed the centerline and traveled into the path of a northbound vehicle. Williams ran off the left side of the road, striking a rock bluff.
The second vehicle, driven by 58-year-old Robert E. Hudson of Crocker, made a controlled stop just north of the accident scene.
Williams and her passenger, Tracie R. Martin, 39, of Iberia, had minor injuries and were taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, by Pulaski County Ambulance. Each was reported to be wearing a seat belt.
Hudson was not injured in the accident, according to the report.
Williams’ 2008 Ford and Hudson’s 2005 Buick had minor damage. Williams’ car was removed by Jack’s Towing, while Hudson drove his from the scene.
