WAYNESVILLE — The Pulaski County Commission met with three individuals representing two phone and Internet companies Monday morning and informed them of services the county is looking for in an effort to upgrade their current phone system.

Melody Glick and Greg Flint of Fidelity Communications and David Aguilar of CenturyLink met with commissioners to determine what they wanted in terms of telecommunications in the Pulaski County Courthouse.

Presiding Commissioner Bill Ransdall said that his intent “was to simplify and save money.”

He also said that he wanted costs regarding the installation of a system and how much a monthly bill would be. County Clerk Diana Linnenbringer said both Fidelity Communications and CenturyLink would be returning to the County Commission with bids on Nov. 23.

In other business, the county received information from an audit conducted after the resignation of former county treasurer Barbara Thomas last month.
