WAYNESVILLE — Pulaski County Commissioners signed a resolution Thursday morning for a proposed Enhanced Enterprise Zone, which would provide tax credits to new or expanding businesses in the county.

The county, in addition to all cities, are required to sign resolutions regarding the EEZ as part of an application process that will be evaluated by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The whole county is eligible to be in the EEZ with the exception of one census tract since it was able to receive a federal disaster declaration due to storms that hit last May.

Businesses located in an EEZ would receive real property tax abatement at 50 percent for at least 10 years, in addition to state tax credits.
