“Plunge into the icy water,” invites the Better Opportunities for Single Service Members organization.

Join the BOSS program at Bold in the Cold, Winter Plunge at noon on Fort Leonard Wood  Friday, Feb. 10, at training area 250.

Prizes will be awarded for best couple theme, best team theme, youngest plunger, best individual costume, the old salt award and individual with the most overall moxie.         

The money raised goes back into the BOSS program. According to the web site, the BOSS mission statement is to enhance the morale and welfare of single soldiers, increase soldier retention, sustain combat readiness through planned and execution of community service, recreation and leisure events  and identifying well being issues for resolution.

The Polar Plunge is open to the public; youth 18-years-old and under must provide written consent from parents or guardians on the day of the event.
The price of the event is $5 per person in advance, $20 per team with a maximum number of five members per team or on the day of the event, $10 per person and $25 per team.
