The Historical Society would like to let you know how informative the Old court House Museum is.
The Society is a not-for-profit organization.The old court house was built in 1903, in a beautiful Romanesque Revival style, and the exposed vaulted cathedral type ceiling, with english varnished woodwork, with massive iron braces and wood is a beautiful sight to see in the original courtroom upstairs.
The Museum opens for the season April 7, opening at 10 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. every Saturday through Sept. 29.
We will be open on special occasions, group tours and other appointments. For appointments or information contact curator and guide Marge Scott at (573) 774-5368 or historian and guide Betty Atterberry at (573) 774-2549.
The open house will be May 5. All rooms will be open with special exhibits as well as the WWII Honor Roll and the New WWI Honor Roll with 374 names on it. There will be a guest speaker with a video. Be sure to examine the old WWI type cannon that greets you in front of the museum.

Genealogy History is kept in this building and is catalogued and on a computer. The genealogy department is open Feb. 16 and March 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. or contact Denise Seevers at (573) 265-1265 or Connie Cutbirth at (573) 528-2283.
Projects of the Historical Society include more research on WWI Honor Roll and work on the Pulaski County Poor Farm Cemetery. Over 200 graves have been marked, a sign put up, a graveled driveway off the road and a nice parking lot have been added. The cemetery is up the gravel road past the Roubidoux Spring.
Gravel trucks run fast and hard through the week.
Three volumes of “Pulaski County” as well as “History is School” and “Cemeteries” can be bought at Richland and Waynesville libraries or by contacting any on of the members.
Lifetime and annual members all receive a copy of our newsletter, “Pulaski County Heritage,” four times a year. If you have something of interest, you can contact Vicki Willis or mail to the Historical Society.
The Society is supported by the museum gift shop, private donations, book sales, yard sales, bake sales, society memberships and recently added merchant support.
We invite you to our meetings. They are held on the first Thursday of the month. The Feb. 2 and March 1 meetings will be noon meetings. There is no charge to attend. There is a charge for genealogy research, according to how far you want searched. The April 5 meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. All Historical Society meeting are held in the Historical – Genealogy Building.
