Max Harkless Miller, 73, of Boonville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.
Visitation will be Friday, April 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Boonville, with funeral services at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Scott Paris officiating.
Max was born Nov. 25, 1943 in Paducah, Ky. to Julian and Sally Miller.
He was a 1961 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and a 1967 graduate of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. After college, Max had a brief career as a Social Worker before becoming an Insurance Adjuster for Crawford and Company where he won the Peak Performer Award one year as one of their best adjusters in the country. Max later worked at Silvey Company and then as a Claims Manager at Cornerstone Insurance Company in Columbia.
Max is survived by his daughter and grandson, Maxi and Max Kolb of Paducah, Ky.; his first wife, Linda Miller of Paducah, Ky.; his fiancé, Jackie Thomas of Boonville; and Jackie’s children, Susan (Steve) Hague and their sons, Forrest, Mason and Sammy, and Craig (Sara) Chandler and their children, Taylor (Jane) Chandler, Ryan (Libby) Chandler, Logan Chandler; and great-granddaughter, Quinn Chandler. He is also survived by his step-children, Brittany and Darren Heil.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife, Janet Miller; and his four much loved dachshunds, Frank, Ellie, Scarlett, and Skeezix.
Max was best known for his sunny disposition, his sense of humor, and his ability to always make others feel important and worthy of his attention.
