Margaret Jane Ellis, known by friends and family as Maggie, 27, of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 after complications from open heart surgery.
There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, April 22 at Norma Sutherland Smith Park, in Columbia, from 1:00 -5:00 p.m.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1989 in St. Louis, to Lucy Nobel Ellis and Glenn Ellis.
She graduated from Fort Zumwalt North High School and went on to earn a Bachelor in Educational Studies with an emphasis in Hospitality Management from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Maggie loved country music, animals, being in nature, having fun with friends and family and going to St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. Maggie was known as a hard worker, and the most heart-loving, compassionate, joyful and generous soul.
Maggie is survived by her father, Glenn Ellis; step mom, Sheryl; her brothers, Kevin and Luke Ellis; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Doherty) Ellis; aunts, uncles, cousins and the love of her life Ethan Dockery.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Nobel Ellis.
In lieu of flowers, plant a tree, bush, or perennial in honor of Maggie so we may be reminded to praise the beauty in the world and to recognize we are all one.
