Msgr. Michael Flanagan and Rev. Chris Cordes officiating. Graveside Services with full military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, in Jacksonville, Mo.
He was born May 9, 1945 in Mt. Vernon, the son of the late Patrick and Margaret (Schwering) Neville.
On Feb. 7, 1970 he was united in marriage at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville to Alice Gerard.
David was a graduate of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Boonville. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War for three years and continued serving for 23 years in the Army Reserve.
David and his wife Alice founded Neville and Sons Carpet Cleaning in 1977. They enjoyed meeting customers and took pride in growing the business. He loved working in the shop and fixing anything that was broken. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He continued working in the shop even after retiring and passing on the family business to his sons.
David was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1529 and of the 4th degree. David started the “fix it” crew and was a hospitality minister at the church. He enjoyed playing cards, and cracking jokes. We will miss his laughter. He will be remembered for his heart for God, his gentle spirit, and his kindness to others. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Along with his wife of 47 years, he is survived by two sons: David A. “Tony” Neville Jr. (wife Carrie) and Kevin G. Neville (wife Heather) both of Columbia; five grandchildren: Jace, McKenna, Shawn, Madison and Colton; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John P. Neville and one sister, Ruth Ann Schroeder.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul.[ml.75(Parker-Mi_1.jpg)]
