Gene Reeves and a grandson, Cody Reeves, dropped by our place, for a short visit last week. Cody was visiting from Florida. Gene had taken him up to St. Louis county, to visit his great grandmother and an aunt.
He is growing up into a very handsome young man. We hadn't seen him since he was a baby. He is now 16, and driving.
My, what a lovely TOPS column I got credit for last week. Course we all know, Charlotte Pemberton writes TOPS for the Mirror.
Let's not forget The Tri-County Fair in the Richland Park starting Thursday. I am looking forward to seeing my niece, Vicki VanSpeybroeck, some time this week.
We are praying for a few nice days. Seems that is rather hard to come by around here lately.
Think we have something like four and a half inches of rain in the last week.
I was in Stockstill's Saturday. Sally Belshe came in and asked me if I knew there was a sidewalk sale in front of their hardware store. Does that lady know me or what?
The Relay for Life Group had a very nice sale and I didn't get down there until after noon.
I expect that I would have found lots more stuff had I been there earlier.
While there, I visited with Carol Ann Anderson. I can't remember names of all those who were working. Do know, of course, Lloyd and Veda Zeigenbein were there. That's a handy pair to have in your corner.
The speaker at Independence Baptist this past Sunday ,was a missionary— C.B. Johnson, from India— along with his wife, her sister and two small children. He is quite a speaker.
It was so good to see Aileen Bales Davenport, along with Margaret Manuel, in church.
Aileen is visiting Margaret from Michigan. She is a former Hazelgreen gal. After she lost her dear husband Lynn, she moved from Oregon to be near some of her family in Michigan.
They are having a great time visiting folk in the area.
I also visited with Louie and Wanda Parker while in town. My! They sure looked nice. They were on their way to the Oursbourn wedding.
Wanda is doing pretty good, she says. God bless her and Louie and keep them going.
Others we keep in our prayers are Charla and Gary Baker. There are so many we need prayer for.
