The Hartley Golf Open that was played at Bear Creek Golf course at the Lake of the Ozarks on Aug. 3 was a huge success! There were 144 golfers that showed and 50 or more spectators on one of the hottest days of the year with a heat index of 110 degrees.
Despite the heat, the golfers were there to play! Many were golfing for the first time, but they sweated it out like everyone else.
“It’s a tough course to be playing on, especially if it’s your first time,” said one of the golf assistants. Everyone agreed, the golf course was nice and they were very accommodating.
The Hartley and Rosipal Families want to thank everyone in the community, including area businesses for their contributions.
“Once again, this community has blown us away with their support and kindness,” says my husband, Mike Hartley. Mike and I agree that we are blessed to live in such a great community. We both would like to recognize and give a special thanks to the original committee that initiated such an event: Brandon Bales, John Rosipal, Dan Deardorff, Chase Foster, Luke Tallant, Chris Morrissey and Terry Foster. There were so many others that joined the cause and contributed so much of their time that we would also like to thank.
The golf tournament event was put together to help buffer costs for my upcoming heart transplant. I found out last year after valve surgery was unsuccessful that doctors would need to resort to a heart transplant. I just recently was put on the list at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, which could be a three month to one year wait.
People are keeping me busy though, which is good!
