Dear Editor:
I am writing to comment on Mr. John D. Connors’ letter to the editor, “NObama, NO Integrity, NO Presidency” that the Daily Guide published on Aug. 8.
There is “no way” that Mr. John Connors, a neoconservative and supporter of Senator John Sidney McCain III (a.k.a. “McSame”) can confront Senator Barack Hussein Obama on the subject of integrity. Mr. Connors wrote, “Apparently, if you lie to family members, you’ll lie to anybody.” I would like to ask Mr. Connors how honest his hero, Senator McCain, was when he cheated on his wife, Carol McCain, with one woman after another.  I would like to ask Mr. Connors how honest John McCain was when he dumped his loving wife like a bag of trash. John McCain traded his loving wife in like a used car at the time when she needed him the most. John McCain traded Carol McCain in for a young heiress named Cindy Lou Hensley. You see, while John McCain was in captivity, his then-wife, Carol McCain, was injured in an automobile accident. I would like to ask Mr. Connors what he thinks about that.  So much for being honest with family members. So much for family values, the sanctity of marriage and all the other things that neoconservatives love to crow about every fourth year.
I’m on a roll — yes, let’s discuss integrity.  Here is a second example of Senator McCain’s lack of integrity.  Senator McCain is taking credit for the passage of Senator James Webb’s new GI Bill that will give vastly improved benefits to our troops.  Senator McCain fails to mention that he (and the Bush Administration) opposed the bill.
An article at http://www.boston.com/ news/nation/articles/2008/05/23/mccain_misses_vote_on_new_gi_bill_scorns_criticism_ from_obama/ has more information on Senator McCain’s failure to support our troops.
Here is a third example of Senator McCain’s lack of integrity. In April 2007, Senator McCain visited Iraq. Senator McCain marveled about how safe it was in Iraq, but Senator McCain failed to mention that he had 100 armed troops, 3 Blackhawk helicopters and 3 Apache gunships guarding him during his visit.
Let’s take our discussion of integrity a bit further. Mr. Connors did admit that Senator Obama did not commit to giving any financial assistance the school that Mr. Connors mentioned. This means that Mr. Connors is accusing Senator Obama of breaking a promise that Mr. Connors cannot prove that Senator Obama actually made. Either way, I see that Mr. Connors failed to give us his source for his tale about Senator Obama. By the way, I wonder how much Mr. Connors has contributed to this school since he seems to be so concerned.
If Mr. Connors would like to continue our discussion of integrity, he can count me in.  Mr. Connors can look me up on AKO (Army Knowledge Online). I recall that I invited Mr. Connors to discuss jackasses a few months ago after he made a crack about “the party whose symbol is a jackass.” I have yet to hear from Mr. Connors on that subject.
I guess Mr. Connors has been busy. Mr. Connors has chosen not only to defend the failed Bush presidency, but also to argue in favor of a candidate who will continue the policies of the failed Bush presidency. That’s enough to keep a man really busy.
