I want to begin with a heartfelt thank you to the residents of St. Robert who voted to pass the quarter cent sales tax that will support the future park improvements.  On Aug. 4, the sales tax initiative passed with 93 percent for and 7 percent against, with 235 casting ballots.   On behalf of the St. Robert City Council, I would also like to thank the Citizens for Better Parks, our local businesses and banking institutions, and all the citizens from the surrounding communities who supported this worthwhile initiative that will benefit our community.
We now begin the construction phase.  The designs for the new aquatics facility and community building have already begun and bids will be going out very soon so we can get this project started. The goal is to commence construction in October of this year, with a projected completion date of September 2010.  During the process, we will continually keep the residents and public informed on the progress of this project and other improvements through the city web site, council meetings and the monthly newsletter.
The Woodland Hills project out side the main gate is on track.  More than 65 acres of land have been cleared on the sight. The finalization of the master plan and infrastructure engineering should be submitted to the City within two to three weeks.  We have also had inquiries from two national chain stores looking to locate their businesses here in the city.  We are pleased with continued growth and progress of our businesses.
With the completion of  the street improvements on J.H. Williamson Drive and Phase One of Eastlawn Avenue we are ready to begin street improvement in the Bosa Heights Subdivision with paving on Bosa Drive, Red Bud Circle, Wild Rose Maple Street.
Additional improvements will be made at Paddock Estates Subdivision in October of this year.
Again, I would like to extend my appreciation to everyone who voiced their support of our park initiative, and to the great residents who voted to make this a reality.
