It is a beautiful day here on Ogle Hill. Nice and cool for now. Course it’s still early. Hopefully it won’t get quite as warm as in the past week.
Last Monday I attended the “Going Home” services for Georgette Tillett. She was a lovely young woman with all sorts of potential. The Lord had other plans for her.
The service was well attended. Our prayers go out to all the family, her mother Kimberly Weller and her husband Kevin, her father Doug Tillett and his wife Judi.
The Lord called Lonnie Henry home last week. It had only been a short time since he had taken Lonnie’s wife, Wanda Decker Henry. Lonnie and Wanda had celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in April, I believe.
Lonnie left two daughters, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also left six brothers and three sisters.
When I entered the Memorial Chapel, I learned they had another, dear old friend of mine had gone on to her heavenly home. Cora Smith was a dear lady and had a loving family and legions of friends to mourn her passing.
We extend our Christian love and sympathy to all those who have lost Loved one.
Our neighbors, Louie and Wanda Parker, were in Branson last week end for the Boesl Reunion. They can’t be away for long. Wanda has dialysis, Mon., Wed. and Fri. That pretty well keeps them close to home.
We remember Wanda and her daughter, Charla Baker, in our prayers, as well as the family.
The services at Independence Baptist was well attended yesterday. We lunched at the church and in the afternoon we were treated to special music and a neat Puppet Show. I think we all enjoyed the show, but our little ones really enjoyed the puppets.
Then, of course, last but definitely not least, a wonderful sermon by a former pastor, Dr. Paul Miller. He will be bringing the message Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings this week. We pray for a full house each evening at 7 p.m.
I am so sorry I missed helping Esther Black’s birthday celebration. Just don’t have the energy to make the trip to Fairview and back to I.B.C. in a couple of hours. I love you Esther and pray it was a great day for you!
I know my allowed space is running out. Will just have to say “ ’Till next time GOD BLESS.”
A tribute to all fishermen who have gone on and
especially to Lonnie.
I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray,
When in the LORD’S great landing net and peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy
I be judged
BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.
