Saint Robert has been blessed in many ways this year. We are blessed with a continuously growing city even though the economy is slow.
There are still new business opening, homes being built, and new developers coming into the city and many from the community volunteering their time and resources to benefit and improve the quality of life in our city. Several individuals, business and organizations have donated items or volunteered their time to improve our community. To these individuals, businesses and organization we offer our sincerest gratitude.
Just a few of the examples of the generosity and service provided to the city this year are Wal-Mart which donated a Christmas tree and all the decoration which will be displayed next Christmas, the Missouri Department of Transportation donated approximately $112,000.00 worth of park equipment, the Shekinah Tabernacle donated 14 pews, two benches and 10 wooden chairs from their church to be used in our new Municipal Court Room which were reupholstered by the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop of Richland. They did a wonderful job.
The Sheltered Workshop also made nine rustic benches and two signs for the new walking trails in the city parks which will be installed by Robert Bell of Boy Scout Troop 2002 as an Eagle Scout Project. We are proud of this young man for taking on this project that will benefit the citizens of our city, and especially our senior citizens.
The officers of CBRN C3 02-09 Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear class have volunteered as a project to assemble the Bosa Park Playground equipment. Without their help this project would be months away from completion. We are grateful to these soldiers for their service to this community and our country.
We will have several area youth to help out in the city this summer from the Lake Ozarks Employment Services, Inc. (LOES) Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). They will be a great help to our public works and administrative departments.
There were many others who also donated their time and resources to benefit our community this year of which we are deeply grateful. We have a great community filled with generous, community minded people and with their continued support we will strive to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Saint Robert.
