    • Seen on Scene: Waynesville schools awarded for positive behavior

    • East, Freedom and Partridge elementary schools each received a Gold Recognition Award for their school-wide positive behavior support systems; and the Sixth Grade Center and Thayer Elementary received Silver Recognition. This is the second gold award for Partridge.   “The schools receiving recognition are making a real difference for all children, especially those who deal with behavior challenges every day,” says Deputy Commissioner Margie Vandeven. “It not only takes time to implement these types of supportive environments, it takes true change within the school.”   The awards were presented by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at the Annual Missouri SW-Positive Behavior Support Summer Institute June 11 at Tan-Tar-A at the Lake of the Ozarks.   In Waynesville schools, students observe these Tiger Traits: Be respectful, be responsible, be a learner.
