The 2012 X-Factor Finalist Vino Alan provided performance tips to students at Thayer Elementary on Thursday as they were preparing to perform in their school talent show, which was held Friday, May 17, at the school. Alan advised the students to imagine a bubble of protection around them to protect against “butterflies” while they are performing. After singing a few songs for the students, Alan invited a few on stage to sing with him, bringing smiles to their faces. Students were especially excited to hear that Alan’s first performance was a school talent show when he was about 9 years old. Photos submitted

Jefferson City and Rock Bridge vied for the top two spots of the meet in both the girls and boys events, while Camdenton claimed third in boys and fifth in the girls.
