        JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri lawmakers have passed a measure that would allow county sheriffs to divert income tax refunds and lottery winnings to pay jail debts.

        The House voted 122-31 on Friday to send the bill to Gov. Jay Nixon. It cleared the Senate 33-0 on Thursday.
