The WHS wrestling team competed in the 6th annual USA/Dollamur Kansas City classic and finished with a 13th place finish.
Thirty-seven teams from 11 states went into the tournament on Friday night and 16 of them made it to the championship bracket on Saturday. Waynesville was one of them.
Waynesville junior Andrew Wallace and sophomore Jacob Semple ended the tournament as runner-up champions. Sophomore Joe Bradford was the final Tiger wrestler to make it to the podium stand with an 8th place finish.
Senior Demarquen Mobley finished 10th, followed by 13th-place finishes from sophomore Isiah Johnson, junior Lemuel Johnson and senior Sam Cyr.
The Tigers entered the tournament with two open weight classes at 138 and 195 due to injuries and might have broke into the top 10 had they had their full line-up.
The Tigers go home for the Christmas break and resume wrestling when they host the Rolla Bulldogs Jan. 9.
