Waynesville's girls slipped past host Versailles 52-49 Wednesday, staying alive in the consolation bracket of the host school's tourney.
Waynesville had to do it by surviving a second quarter drought in which the Lady Tigers managed just nine points after a nine-point first quarter and trailed 28-18 at halftime.
The visitors managed to shave a couple of points off the gap with a 13-11 edge in the third but trailed 39-31 with eight minutes left.
But a 21-10 difference in the fourth powered WHS.
Senior forward Niki House led the effort with 12 points and chipped in with five steals. Junior guard Dorothy Adams netted 11 points.
The Lady Tigers will play Friday at 5:30 in the consolation.
