WHS boys drop home opener

The Waynesville Tigers dropped their home opener 49-45 to the Eldon Mustangs.

 

The Tigers (0-4) were able to control most of the tempo in the first quarter and were leading 14-11 at the end .

 

Waynesville was able to keep up the pressure in the second quarter and extend its lead to five. Waynesville has had the lead at the half in their last two games.

 

The teams combined for 15 points in the third. Waynesville's five-point lead was now down to 32-30 with only eight minutes left in the game.

 

Eldon came out in the fourth and was able to convert a couple of three pointers to take the lead and Waynesville, while staying close, was unable to move back on top.
