DIXON— Although the Dixon Lady Bulldogs had the Eugene Lady Eagles down 11 at halftime, Eugene would crawl back to re-capture the lead with 2:34 left in the game and eventually win by six, 65-59, in a non-conference game in Dixon on Monday night.
The Lady Eagles (13-4) made 19 of their 24 foul shots in the fourth quarter (79 percent) to help them regain the lead. They only made 2 of 10 (20 percent) in the first three quarters combined.
“We had them down 11,” Dixon head coach Craig Moody said. “But those foul shots killed us.”
Dixon (7-10) had two players who scored in double figures. Freshman Hunter Yoakum scored 33 points and grabbed nine rebounds while freshman Shelby Wade scored 11 and grabbed ten. Sophomore Savanah Yoakum added eight points and also grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs return to action Thursday to host Licking in a Frisco League contest at 6 p.m.
