SPRINGFIELD— The Waynesville Tigers travelled to Springfield on Wednesday for their second game in a row against a team from Springfield, and again came away with the loss, this time falling 14-0 to the Glendale Falcons.
Glendale’s Carston Cash started the game and the Tigers couldn’t reach safely.
The Falcons (12-3, 7-0 Ozark Conference) poured it on with their bats as well, getting nine hits in the game and plating nine runs in their half of the first inning.
They also scored in the second and third.
All nine of the players in the Glendale starting lineup recorded singles, while Casey Goss hit a double.
Senior Austin Greene was the starter for the Tigers, taking the loss.
Waynesville returns to the field today for Senior Day, where they’ll take on Kickapoo at 4:30 p.m. They’ll play another make-up contest on Friday, this time at Camdenton. That game was originally scheduled for March 24.
Next week the Tigers end their regular season schedule with three more games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The district tournament begins on May 18.
Waynesville is in Class 4 District 10, which also includes Hickman, Rock Bridge, Camdenton, Helias, Jefferson City, Lebanon and Marshfield.
Hickman is the host of the tournament.
