Random news and notes from area sports:

WHS will get another baseball game: The Waynesville baseball season isn’t over.
The Tigers will get another game in on Thursday, a makeup of the contest against Joplin that was originally scheduled for April 23.

WHS head coach Scott Turner said that the two teams needed to play the game to determine who wins the Ozark Conference regular season championship.

If Joplin beats Waynesville, they will claim the title.

If the Tigers win, either Rolla or Glendale will be declared champs (it is unclear if they will also play make-up contests)...

College signings: WHS senior Keith Dupont was one of two Tiger athletes to sign a college letter of intent on Tuesday. Dupont, who played basketball for the Tigers this winter, will play at Lincoln University in Jefferson City next year.

He plans on majoring in Secondary Education and wants to become an English teacher after his basketball career.

Dupont transferred to Waynesville High School during his junior year after having spent three years in Germany with his family.

While in Germany, he attended two different high schools, played varsity basketball on both teams, with both teams winning European District Championships...

Collier also signs: WHS soccer player Tim Collier also signed with a college on Tuesday.

He’ll play at Greenville College next fall.

Greenville, located in Greenville, Ill., is an NCAA school with both Division I and III eligibility.

The Panthers compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC), and were the 2008 conference champions, finishing 15-4-3 .

Since 2002, the men’s team has a record of 79-40-17.
