The sixth-seeded Waynesville High School baseball team saw its season come to a close on Monday, as the Tigers were beaten by third-seeded Springfield Glendale 4-0 in the first round of the Missouri Class 4 District 11 Tournament at Oley Scott Field.
Waynesville ends the season with a 7-12 record.
Senior right-hander Dustin Loggins was the hard-luck losing pitcher for the Tigers, going the distance.
However, Glendale’s senior right-hander, Josh Parrish defeated WHS for the second time this season. In 10 innings against the Tigers this spring Parrish allowed one run.
Last night the Glendale Falcons tallied one run in the first inning and three more in the sixth.
In the other first-round game Monday fourth-seeded Rolla clipped fifth-seeded Springfield Hillcrest 2-0 behind winning pitcher Dalton Friend, a junior lefty. Rolla improves to 21-3 and will play top-seeded Ozark at 4:30 p.m. today in semifinal action.
In the other semifinal game today Glendale is to play second-seeded Lebanon at 7 p.m.
The district title game is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday.
