Crocker, Newburg track teams send several to state meet

 Several members of the Crocker and Newburg high school boys’ and girls’ track teams advanced to the Missouri Class 1 Track and Field Championships through last week’s sectional meet, held Saturday at Archie.
The top four finishers in each event at the sectional meet advanced to the Missouri Class 1 Championships, to be held Friday and Saturday, May 16-17 on the campus of Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
Senior Nathan Rigsby of the Crocker boys’ team won three events at the sectional meet – the high jump, long jump and triple jump.
Also qualifying for the Crocker boys were Kyle Adams in the 100- and 200-meter dashes; Donnie Smith in the shot put, and the 4x200-meter relay team of Adams, Michael Linggi, Phillip Moss and A.J. Imilkowski.
Qualifying for the Newburg boys were Andrew Lott in the 200-meter dash; Sam Holland in the 800-meter run; Brandon Sutton in the 110-meter hurdles; the 4x100-meter relay team of Lott, Dillon Hudson, Alex Burke and Dustin Colegate; the 4x200-meter relay team of Lott, Colegate, Hudson and Sutton, and the 4x800-meter relay team of Holland, Colegate, Sutton and Josh Mudd.
Qualifying for the Crocker girls’ squad were Kaitlin Bogle in the high jump and triple jump.
Newburg girls’ state qualifiers were Shannon McNamara in the 1,600-meter run and Jordan Woods in the 100-meter hurdles.
