The Waynesville high school wrestling team swept two meets on Wednesday night, first beating Ft. Zumwalt West 42-25 and then beating Holt 39-32. The two wins brings Waynesville's record to 12-6.
According to Missouriwrestling.com, Waynesville is currently ranked third in Missouri Class 4 in dual meet competition and sixth in state tournament points, with six wrestlers ranked individually.
In the 106 pound class seventh-ranked Isiaha Johnson split his two matches, beating Jake Brandt of Ft. Zumwalt West by decision, (2-1) and losing to Holt's Justin Scott by decision, (8-3). Andrew Wallace, ranked second in the 113 pound class won both of his matches by forfeit.
Lemuel Johnson, ranked fifth in the 126 pound class, won both of his matches beating second-ranked James Krischke of Ft. Zumwalt West by decision, (7-1) and Brendan Bickert of Holt by pinfall.
Sam Cyr, ranked sixth in the 170 pound class, won both of his matches by beating Ft. Zumwalt West's Kyle Harris by pinfall and Holt's Cody Hughes by decision 7-1.
Demarquen Mobley, ranked sixth in the 220 pound class also won both of his matches, beating Michael Carroll of Ft. Zumwalt West by pin and then winning by forfeit over Holt.
Finally, Jacob Semple, ranked fourth in the 285 pound class won both of his matches beating Logan Miller of Holt by pinfall and winning his match by forfeit.
