There are tough ways to lose and then there are tough ways to lose. A late loss on a fake extra point counts as a tough loss.
Springfield-Kickapoo senior running back Patrick Kilgore scored a touchdown with just more than three minutes remaining to cut the Tiger lead to one.Then junior Hunter Pack caught a pass in the corner of the endzone on a fake extra point to give Kickapoo a 22-21 lead, and ultimately a victory.
Both teams went three and out on their next drives giving Waynesville one last chance.
Helped out by a pass interference call, the Tigers got to the Kickapoo 30-yard line, but a long field goal attempt fell well short.
