The Laquey High School girls’ basketball only has seven players on the roster and it's hard to win a basketball game when four of them foul out.
Laquey held a four-point lead with five minutes to go in the game when their players started fouling out and when that happened Licking was able to make a comeback and post a 62-57 Frisco League victory.
Laquey (11-3) held a 18-13 lead after one quarter of play but Licking came back in the second quarter, outscoring Laquey 14-8 to take a 27-26 advantage into the locker room.
Licking continued to pour it on in the third quarter, running off 21 points to Laquey's 14 points to increase the lead to 48-40. Laquey fought back in the fourth quarter and was able to reagin the lead with about five minutes to go in the game.
The Laquey Lady Hornets stretched their lead to five points before they lost a player to foul trouble and had to play four against five. Two minutes later they would lose two more players and would end the game with just three players on the floor. With an advantage like that it was only a matter of time before Licking was able to retake the lead and the game, 62-57.
Laquey will next play at Stoutland tonight.
