After dropping two straight games to Laquey and Conway in the past week, the Richland Lady Bears opened up their Frisco League regular season slate with a big win at home, beating Licking 74-38 Monday night.
“We finally looked more like a Richland Lady Bear basketball team tonight,” said head coach Rich Mueller.
Sophomore Kylie Edlredge found her shooting stroke against the Wildcats, draining 10 three-pointers for a total of 30 points in the game
Sophomore Emily Case was close behind her, scoring 25 points.
The Lady Bears were able to shut down Licking star Shelby Ellison, holding her to four points, all on free throws. Chelsey Smith led Licking with 10 points.
Richland (3-2, 1-0 Frisco League) hosts Stoutland in more Frisco League action Friday. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
