Last season the Waynesville High School volleyball team struggled to find consistency throughout a 13-18-2 season.

This year’s team gets its chance to be more consistent when it opens the season Friday at Springfield-Glendale.

“At this time of the year we’re starting off a little better than we were last year,” head coach Tammy Beckler said. “Passing is better than it’s been. My group works hard. They’re hard workers. They want to learn. They want to get better. They’re just trying to work together, trying to figure out who can fit in the best spots.”

Waynesville has five seniors on the squad. Four saw significant playing time last season.
