Josh Parrish proved too tough for the Waynesville High School baseball team.
Parrish, a senior right-hander for Springfield Glendale, pitched a two-hitter, walking two and fanning seven to lift the Falcons to a 11-1 Ozark Conference victory over the Tigers Tuesday at Tiger Pride Park.
Waynesville falls to 5-9 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Glendale reached Waynesville pitching for three runs in the top of the second inning, four in the third, three in the fourth and one in the fifth.
The game was stopped after five innings due to the run rule.
Highlighting the four-run third inning for the Falcons were a pair of two-run doubles by junior Kyle Williams and junior Ollie Kadey.
Williams also belted a solo home run in the fourth inning. Chipping in RBI singles were senior twin brothers Mike and Dan Kickham.
Senior right-hander Jordan Hancock was the starting and losing pitcher for the Tigers. Hancock worked two innings before being relieved by junior Austin Greene. Sophomore Patrick Clegg pitched the final two frames for WHS.
Falcon hitters reached the Tigers for seven hits and five walks.
Waynesville scored its lone run in the fourth inning, as Hancock walked and later scored on an RBI single by junior Ivan Freeman.
The other Tiger hit was a double by senior Josh Leininger.
Glendale also won the junior varsity game 7-1. Matt Hesteness singled and scored a run for the WHS jayvee squad.
Waynesville was scheduled to play at West Plains today in another league game and is to play at Jefferson City on Friday for a varsity-only contest against Jefferson City High School. The Waynesville jayvee team is to compete in the Lebanon Jayvee Tournament on Friday.
