Days after having his name removed from consideration for a full-time position on the State Tax Commission, Bill Ransdall has landed on his feet in the Department of Economic Development (DED).
The former Pulaski County presiding commissioner said Wednesday he’s excited to be in his new position.
“It will primarily be dealing with municipalities, counties, regional planning commissions, local governments— something that I have a lot of experience in,” Ransdall said about his new duties.
DED Director of Communications John Fougere said the department offered Ransdall the job.
“Considering his past service as a city councilman, mayor, state representative and presiding commissioner, he’s a perfect fit for working here at DED,” Fougere said.
The department works with agencies to help grow and sustain economic opportunities in communities.
Ransdall was originally appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon in November to fill a term on the State Tax Commission that ended Jan. 23. His appointment was contested in the Missouri Senate, ultimately leading Nixon to withdraw his nomination.
