Shots were fired early Monday morning during an apparent break-in of a home, with two people injured.
According to a press release, at approximately 3:41 a.m. Monday, St. Robert police officers responded to a call at a private residence located on Y highway.
Pulaski County Sheriff J.B. King told the Daily Guide that the Sheriff's Department believes the people outside the residence were attempting to break in.
King's press release stated that several shots from a .44 Magnum revolver were fired from inside the residence directed at people on the outside of the residence. In return, a number of 9mm shots were fired from the outside of the residence into the home.
According to the press release, a male inside the residence received a 9mm round into his upper leg and a female outside of the residence received a .44 round to her kneecap area.
The injured were taken via ambulance to area hospitals. The female was eventually transferred to a hospital in St. Louis.
