At Thursday’s Pulaski County Commission meeting, Pulaski County Clerk Brent Bassett opened up bids from BPJ, Konnel Insurance and Jones Investments for insurance for the county.

The county currently belongs to a consortium that makes the insurance rates for Pulaski County employees but the hope is to find one that will save the county some money.

The commission will look at all three bids in a special meeting on Tuesday and will have an answer at next Thursday’s meeting, commissioners said.

Some consortiums will let out members without a fee for leaving early. Bassett said he wasn't sure if the one they are in has some sort of penalty for leaving, but said he would find out.
