Gov. Eliot Spitzer announced today funding for projects totaling more than $6.4 million:
* $400,000 will go toward renovating a Rome building on W. Dominick Street to accommodate 12 start-up or expanding businesses and four retail stores;
* $1 million renovation for the Harza Building, on Genesee Street, which is only 25 percent occupied right now.
Spitzer also promised to fulfill two commitments from the previous administration:
* $2 million parking garage in downtown Utica;
* $3 million toward demolition and reconstruction at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center, to make the site shovel-ready for possible economic development.
